Latest Announcements from Disney World: Country Bear Musical Jamboree and The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure

Disney World hosted a media event on June 10th that included lots of fun and also a couple of announcements! While I did not go to the event itself, I followed along with many of the attendees and it looks like they had an extremely full day of Disney World adventures, including announcements about Country Bear Musical Jamboree and “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure.”

One of the biggest announcements to come out of the event was the opening date for Country Bear Musical Jamboree. The new show will debut on July 17th, 2024, in Magic Kingdom! While we knew it was going to be opening sometime this summer, we now have the exact opening date. They also showed off some of the new costumes for the bears. Henry, Trixie, Shaker, Wendell, and Big Al will all be debuting new country-inspired looks. They even mentioned that you will likely be able to spot a few Easter Eggs in the stage wear.

In addition to the opening date for Country Bear Musical Jamboree, we also got a behind-the-scenes look at “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure.” This is the show that will be premiering in Disney’s Hollywood Studios where the old The Little Mermaid show happened. It was noted that this show will have a whole new cast of puppets, new set pieces, and two additional music numbers. However, while we got some more insight into the show, we still don’t have an official opening date. For right now we just know that it will debut in Fall 2024. So soon, but we just don’t know how soon!

The event also focused a lot on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure ahead of its opening on June 28th, 2024. Attendees heard from lots of people about the ride, the story, the music, and so much more. Cast Member previews have been ongoing for a bit, and Annual Passholder previews kick off on June 13th! I am hoping to get a chance to ride down the Bayou and I am looking forward to seeing the new elements and hear all the music.

What are you most looking forward to at Disney World this summer? Let me know in the comments! Happy travels! ~Colette
