There are always exciting things happening at the theme parks! Check out some of the most recent updates from Disney World, Universal Orlando, and SeaWorld Orlando.
Disney World
- Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane are being replaced by Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass beginning July 24th, 2024. This new system will allow you to purchase and reserve your lightning lane selections up to 7 days in advance if you are staying at a Disney World hotel, or 3 days in advance for all other guests.
- Flavors of Florida begins in Disney Springs on July 1st, 2024. Check out LOTS of exclusive food and drink offerings inspired by Florida.
- Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom is officially open! This reimagination of Splash Mountain opened on June 28th, 2024.
- Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in Disney’s Hollywood Studios reopened on July 1st, 2024 after a months long refurbishment.
- Test Track closed down in EPCOT on June 16th for a reimagining, Disney has not released a reopening date yet.
Universal Orlando
- New Halloween Horror Nights house announced! Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire joins the line-up of houses
- Details about Dark Universe have been released, including rides, dining, and shops. As well, the Epic Universe Preview Center opened where you can see a scale model of the new park and purchase merchandise.
- A new castle show called Hogwarts Always debuted in Islands of Adventure, and a new lagoon show called CineSational: A Symphonic Spectacular debuted on June 14th in Universal Studios Florida.
- Universal Mega Movie Parade begins on July 3rd, 2024.
- DreamWorks Land at Universal Studios Florida opened on June 14th, 2024.
SeaWorld Orlando
- Penguin Trek has an opening date!! The new roller coaster will be opening on July 7th, with Pass Member previews beginning on July 2nd.
- Bands, Brew & BBQ is returning. The event kicks off on July 6th and runs on weekends until August 25th.
As you can see, there is no lack of things to do at the theme parks. However, there is even more to do in the Orlando area and the theme parks are just a small part of the things to do in Orlando.
