This year, SeaWorld is celebrating 60 years of their parks. While SeaWorld Orlando only opened a little over 50 years ago (in December 1973), SeaWorld San Diego opened in 1964. So, the company is celebrating this milestone at all of it’s parks across the United States! Which means SeaWorld Orlando is also debuting some new activities and entertainment.
The celebration is happening in the parks from March 21st until December 31st, 2024. The celebration will see the debut of a few new entertainment options at SeaWorld Orlando, as well as the return of others. To start, a brand-new show called Xceleration: Cirque Show Extreme will be debuting inside the Nautilus Theater. This show will feature BMX drivers performing a wide variety of stunts that is described as a “groundbreaking cirque-style, adrenaline-charged experience.” This show sounds like a lot of fun and I am excited to see it soon! The show looks like it will run three times a day (at 3pm, 5pm, and 7:30pm), but definitely check the schedule ahead of time as it looks like you won’t be able to see this show on certain days and some weekends.
As well, SeaWorld Orlando will be debuting an interactive parade! The parade will be called the “So Much More to SEA Parade” and will feature the ocean crew and SeaWorld characters. The parade will start in Sharks Plaza and move towards the Waterfront area. It will then continue past the Dolphin Stadium, Journey to Atlantis and out through the newly reopened Antarctica Realm. Normally, SeaWorld Orlando only has a parade in the Sesame Street area so I am excited to see a parade out in the rest of the park!
In addition to the parade and show, there will also be a new dining experience called “Shamu and Crew Better Together.” You can dine with Shamu and his crew on Sundays at 9am. As well, as construction on Penguin Trek nears it end, the Antarctica Realm will be reopening on May 25th. There is more to enjoy as well! Viva La Música will be happening on weekends in June and is a Latin celebration featuring music, food, souvenirs, and more. You can also catch the returning Ignite fireworks show on select nights. If you are hoping to catch the fireworks, be sure to check out SeaWorld’s schedule of events right here. You can also dance your heart out during Club SeaGlow which includes music, lights, and dancing on select evenings. Later in the summer, come back for Bands, Brew & BBQ to taste your way through lots of BBQ, enjoy beer, and live entertainment.
It is going to be an eventful summer at SeaWorld Orlando! Keep checking back as I explore SeaWorld Orlando and bring you more information about the special celebrations and events happening throughout the summer. Which activity are you most excited for? Let me know in the comments! Happy Travels! ~Colette
