This article was most recently updated on May 26th, 2024, to reflect the most recent announcements made by Universal Orlando. Original article was written on May 16th. We are nearing the beginning of spooky season once again in Orlando, and that means it is time for Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando! If you are anything like me, you may have an unhealthy obsession with checking the Halloween Horror Nights social media in hopes that they release more information. Because right now, we know very little…
We do know the dates! Halloween Horror Nights will be on select nights August 30th through November 3rd. The event happens most Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 6:30pm until 2am. Yeah….2am, you read that right. This event is a late one, although I do have good news that you don’t NEED to stay until 2am. But, it definitely helps if you can will yourself awake for that long. The good news is Halloween Horror Nights does a pretty good job of getting your adrenaline going.
Beyond the dates and times, though, we don’t have a whole lot to work with. We know there will be 10 haunted houses, 5 scare zones, live entertainment, and themed food & drinks. As of May 21st, 2024, we have received TWO haunted house announcements. Both of the themes are original, which is super exciting! The first house is called Slaughter Sinema 2. You can find out more right here. House Description: “If you’re dying for a b-movie horror marathon, head to the Carey Drive-in. Scream through scenes from creature features, grindhouse gore, spaghetti westerns and more.”
The second house is Goblin’s Feast. You can find out more right here. House Description: “Welcome to the Goblin’s Feast Tavern and visit the goblin village where a lavish feast is being prepared for goblins, orcs, hobgoblins and witches. And you’re the main course.”
The third house announced was Major Sweets Candy Factory, and you can see more here. House Description: “You’ve been invited to chaperone a field trip to a candy factory. The deadly delicious treats turn the kids into sugar-fueled fiends.”
The fourth house announcement was for The Museum: Deadly Exhibits. You can find more information here. House Description: “You decide to visit the new folklore museum exhibit, The Rotting Stone, when an evil escapes from within, destroying everything in its path.”
Next up, we got an announcement for Monstruos: The Monsters of Latin America, you can find more details right here. House Description: “With La Muerte as your guide, you’ll be begging for piedad from these three terrifying legends: Tlahuelpuchi, La Lechuza and El Silbón.”
We also got an announcement for Triplets of Terror, you can find more information here. House Description: “You’re invited to the Barmy triplets’ birthday bash. But beware, they celebrate by recreating their family’s murders. Prepare for a gory gathering.”
The social media accounts have been releasing some various videos that are hinting towards possible themes. There has been a lot of talk about what is underneath Universal Orlando, and I have read through pages of comments about what various elements to the videos might mean. Halloween Horror Nights is crafty and they really think through every single thing they release and put in the event. So, while I am sure they have given a lot of clues in their posts and videos, I still don’t know what all will be coming.
Keep checking back to Orlando with Colette, as I will be keeping up with all the announcements for Halloween Horror Nights and bringing you with me to the event! You can also find more information on Universal Orlando’s website right here. Happy Travels! ~Colette
