My very favorite show at SeaWorld Orlando is the Sea Lion and Otter Spotlight. The title does not do this show justice. I think it is the most fun 20-minutes you will likely have all day at SeaWorld. This show does not take itself too seriously and is filled with dad jokes and mishaps. The show stars Clyde and Seymour which are California Sea Lions. Additionally, you may meet some other critters along the way including Opie the Otter. Sometimes there is also a great surprise at the end of the show!
Many may disagree with me on this one. I will also say that all of the shows at SeaWorld Orlando are worth checking out! My second favorite show is Dolphin Adventures, followed by Rescue Tails and then Orca Encounter. I would recommend looking at showtimes early on in the day and making a plan, so you are able to see all of the shows!
If you have been to SeaWorld in recent years, Sea Lion and Otter Spotlight is an updated version of the old Sea Lion High show. This show is more focused on education and conservation, but also has all of the humor and entertainment that Sea Lion High had.
About the Show
During the show you will follow along with Neutron, who is the newest intern at the Pacific Point Preserve Marine Conservation Center. Neutron is trying their best, but as we all know, first days can be a bit hard. Especially when you manage to lose the one thing your boss told you not to lose. Oops! You get to hang out with Neutron, Dr. Zolofis (Dr. Zappos? Dr. Zipper? Dr. Zoloft? Maybe Neutron was not the best person to ask), and their sea friends!
Be sure to check the SeaWorld Orlando app or go online to the SeaWorld website to make sure you know what times the shows are at. Sometimes there are only a few options for each show, so make sure you plan accordingly! If I know I want to see certain shows I usually plan my day around them and then squeeze in other activities between shows.
My Tip for a Better Viewing Experience
I think snacks make everything better! You can’t go wrong with some delicious eats and drinks to make your show viewing experience even better.
I recommend grabbing a refillable bottle and a refillable popcorn bucket once you get to the park. Then, grab some snacks before the shows! My personal favorite combination is a Coke Icee with Cheetos Popcorn from the Orca Encounter Stadium. You can get a bottle for $19.99 with unlimited refills all day (and then 99 cent refills for the rest of the season). The refillable popcorn bucket usually costs around $9.99 and includes popcorn the first time you buy it. A Cheetos Popcorn refill costs $4.99 and you get two of the containers below! The Cheetos Popcorn is very addicting though, you have been warned.
The various shows that SeaWorld Orlando offers are fun for the whole family! Each show is unique, and I highly recommend checking them all out. Make sure to download the SeaWorld Orlando app before your visit. The app will let you easily check all the showtimes during the day. However, if you only have time to check one out, I really think it should be the Sea Lion and Otter Spotlight.
